The Junior courses are comprehensive programs designed to nurture the musical sensitivity that every child is born with. The curriculum develops children’s abilities to create and play music, and share the joy of music with friends, family and the society.

Features

Timely Education
Timely Education
Yamaha provides timely education suitable for children’s stages of development. For the children aged from 4 to 5 years old, whose listening ability develops most remarkably, teaching with emphasis on ‘hearing’ will help acquire the fundamental musical ability and sensitivity to music and will allow them to learn in a natural and enjoyable way.
Comprehensive Education
Comprehensive Education
The Yamaha music education system allows the students to learn not only ‘playing’, but also other elements of music such as ‘listening’, ‘singing’, ‘reading’ and ‘composing’. Experiencing music in various forms will enable students to choose the way to enjoy music according to their character, taste and goals.
Group Lesson
Group Lesson
Yamaha believes that group lessons are one of the most effective ways to stimulate a child's emotional and mental development. Through group lessons, students inspire and encourage each other by sharing creativity with their parents and classmates.
Creativity
Creativity
A child’s ability to express themselves is cultivated through singing and keyboard playing activities in the lesson. As students progress in the Junior Courses they learn more about composition skills and they are encouraged to perform their own music for the audience through programs like the Junior Original Concert (JOC).

Junior Music Course (JMC)

The JMC is Yamaha’s core 2-year program for children (with parent attendance), that nurtures creativity and helps to learn playing keyboard and expressing by feeling and understanding music.

The teaching style is based on the method of ‘imitation and repetition’. This is how children easily learn at this age. Imitating their teacher by listening, singing and playing, children enrich their musical vocabulary and knowledge.

What to expect at the end of JMC?
At the end of JMC, students are encouraged to take the Fundamental Skills Survey. The survey is designed so that students as well as the teacher and parents can confirm whether the comprehensive musical abilities, like hearing, singing, playing and reading, have been acquired. After completing this course, the students are promoted to the Junior Extension Course (JXC).
